Deal Alert! Ten Cent Wings With a Pitcher of Beer at Phebe’s!

At some point or another nearly everyone ends up at Phebe’s late night for some drinks and dancing. However, this past Monday, to celebrate the end of one class this semester, I headed over for their special: ten cent wings with the purchase of a pitcher.

This deal is valid Mondays and Wednesdays from 8 pm - midnight (Happy Hour is before that), which was perfect since my class went until 8 pm. Pitchers range from $17-21 and that night I went for a pitcher of the Phebe’s ale which was like Killian’s, but a little sweeter, and cost $20. With that we could order ten cent wings in groups of 10. I ordered 10 medium and my boyfriend ordered 10 hot.

Neither were very spicy or saucy, so definitely feel confident that you can go up a heat level if you’re unsure. I wish they were saucier, which could make it a little spicier, and I almost asked for a side of buffalo sauce because the wings were so dry. On the other hand, the blue cheese dressing was really good. Unfortunately the wings also weren’t very meaty and tasted as though they were fried up 5 hours ago and perhaps sitting under a heat lamp. Not impressed. However, when you look at the bigger picture, we did pay $2 for 20 wings. And we liked the beer quite a lot.

I wouldn’t go there for quality wings, but instead just for the value of the whole deal. Also, the bar is pretty spacious, so it was easy to get a table even during Monday Night Football. Perhaps a fresher batch of wings would be better too. Anyway, if you’re in the area and want some cheap food, head over. But I wouldn’t make a special trip just for the wings.

If you want 10 cent wings, go to Croxley Ales. Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday is 10 cent wing night. You have to order in minimum of 15 but they are great if you go with friends

  • Agreed, they are some of the best wings around and for the price you simply cannot beat them. However, I grew up a few blocks from a Croxley’s on Long Island where I didn’t have to wait in crazy lines to enjoy them (although there always was a crowd), so it’s hard for me to get down there and wait when I know I can easily score some when I’m home. Speaking of which, I’ll need to get some over this holiday break!

I was just going to suggest you go to Croxley’s - then I saw the above comments! I LOVE Croxley’s wings and Irish Nachos (fries with melted mozz, bacon and scallions). They are only a few blocks from my apt, so the smell can be dangerous Mon-Wed ;)
