Laura and I, along with some our closest friends, are huge 90210 fans, so we’re very excited that today marks the official 90210 Day (on 9.02.10, get it?)! We take our 90210 viewings quite seriously (it used to make for a great hungover Saturday or Sunday afternoons…although recently SoapNet has been screwing things up [...]

We were recently contacted by one of the founders of Neighborhood Eats - consider it the Valpak of restaurants and bars, but it’s even better. Each booklet is jam packed with coupons to local restaurants and bars, promising you BOGO drinks or a free dessert with an entree purchase, etc. On top of the [...]

In the bar-wasteland around my office, a very welcome addition has been Whiskey Rebel on 28th and Lexington. Curry Hill doesn’t seem like a natural spot for such a bar, and isn’t, but I think that’s why it works.
What we love about the bar is the free popcorn or snack mixes they serve [...]

The Irish Exit has some upcoming deals that are definitely worth knowing about.
First, if you like free food and drinks (and who doesn’t?), then consider RSVPing to their grand opening party in honor of the new Boom Boom Room (read: a dance room) this Friday and Saturday night. They’ll be passing out free [...]

As we noted last week, there are a ton of World Cup specials in the city, so finding a drink or food deal isn’t the hardest part of watching the games at bars. The real difficulty comes in finding a spot that isn’t too crowded (or too empty, for that matter), creating the right [...]

Guest Post by Elle Kross, Roosevelt Island Correspondent
I love this blog - it has helped me in many “shit, where should I eat” moments, but as I get more and more broke, and the writers of 89th and Broke get more successful (hint hint, their “guest dinner” opportunities). I thought it was [...]

Well, it seems like everyone has World Cup fever. Is it just me, or does the World Cup seem to get bigger in the U.S. every four years? I don’t remember anyone talking about it growing up, but since 2002 I’ve noticed more enthusiasm and anticipation for the tournament each time, and I think [...]

One of our favorite ex-coworkers (well, I guess Laura is an ex-coworker too so I’m the only one left) passed on this deal which we wanted to share with you. Her friend, Rachel, is guest bartending tonight at McFaddens from 10 pm - close. For $25 you can have a three hour open bar [...]
