To continue Vero’s wine tasting offerings, the midtown location only (53rd and 2nd) is hosting Wine on Wednesdays - a wine sampling every Wednesday evening through April. For $35 you’ll get to try four to six wines and light hors d’oeurves (e.g., cheese platter, paninis, bruschetta) from 5-7 pm (RSVPs are recommended).
Now if you work a traditional 9-5 and you’re disappointed that you won’t be able to partake in the whole event, don’t get discouraged. They’ll be serving wines and apps throughout the two hour time frame, so it may still be worth it to try this wine tasting since it’s less expensive than most offered in the city. But also don’t forget that Uncle Jack’s Steakhouse hosts Wine Tasting Wednesdays from 5-7 with free wine tastings and fruit and cheese pairings, making it a considerably cheaper alternative.
However, if you want to try different wines centered on a theme for a more refined comparison, then Vero may be your best bet as they organized the four courses according to type of wine, region and winemaker. Be sure to first check out the schedule below to see which tasting best suits your palette.
April 7 – Whose wines are best? Italy or France? An Italian will say Italy and a Frenchman France. What do you think? Join us and try a selection of whites and reds from both countries and you be the judge.
April 14 – Our Sicilian wine class was such a big success that we think you’d enjoy the great wines of Sicily. Their hot, dry climate produces exceptional wines that aren’t as well know as other areas of Italy. Taste for yourself what why Sicilian wines are such a well kept secret.
April 21 – The sun is out and the cafés and parks are full of people enjoying the warmth of spring. Come cool your palate with a variety of cold, sparkling white and rose wines. This tasting will definitely put you in the mood for summer.
April 28 – Get better acquainted with the wines of the famous Lafite-Rothschild family. Best known for their first growth Bordeaux property classified in 1855, the family has purchased wine properties around the world that meet their stringent standards. Come join our taste tour of Lafite-Rothschild and sample some of their best wines from around the globe.
