Take a Free Class That Doesn’t Involve Studying

Guest post by Jenni Maier, Editor of the Post Grad Blog

Living the real world among business suits, briefcases, and office-sponsored happy hours doesn’t mean you have to stop learning. There are tons of free classes offered around the city ranging on everything from learning how to write to learning how to do the sideways dog position. Instead of taking a class that involves filling out flashcards or cramming for an exam, find a class that you actually enjoy.

  • Dance Manhattan offers a free dance class open house once a month.
  • Stretch yourself at Integral Yoga Institute at their free weekly yoga class.
  • Get creative with Etsy’s free weekly craft lab.
  • Take a free writing class with Gotham’s Writer’s Workshop.
  • Be safe by taking advantage of Self Defense NYC’s free introductory course.
  • Learn how to design a website or use Photoshop at the NY Public Library.
  • Relax at The Meditation Center with a free mediation class.

To learn some other tips on taking advantage of NYC, check out the Post Grad blog.

Editor’s note: If you visit any of these classes, let us know!
