Looking for something fun to do tonight that’s free? Head over to 82nd and 5th avenue, and start walking
up “Museum Mile” to 105th street. Any museum you pass along the way offers free admission. In addition to taking in some culture at a discounted price, along the way there will be entertainment in the street. The event starts at 5:45 p.m., and if you are looking to grab some food afterwards, I recommend you follow the 89th and Broke plan - start at 82nd, work your way up the mile and conclude your evening at Joy Burger Bar on 100th and Lexington.
We checked out Museum Mile last year, and while the event can be crowded, I definitely think it is worth getting a quick look at different museums for an incredible price - Free! Museums that are participating include:
- El Museo del Barrio at 104th Street
- Museum of the City of New York at 103rd Street
- Jewish Museum at 92nd Street
- Cooper-Hewitt National Museum of Design at 91st Street
- National Academy Museum and School of Fine Arts at 89th Street
- Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum at 88th Street
- Neue Galerie at 86th Street
- Metropolitan Museum of Art from 82nd to 86th Streets
- Goethe House German Cultural Center at 82nd Street

I’ve been looking forward to this event for a while! And I haven’t even heard of a few of these museums… I am definitely going!
