Last year, Caryn, myself and several of our co-workers and friends went to a Cinco de Mayo pub crawl, which forever will be known to us as Tres De Mayo. We had a great time during the event and fondly remember it as one of the best days of spring. Well folks, the pub crawl is back on March 14 in honor of St. Patrick’s Day and tickets are available for only $20 until March 1 here. We believe prices rise as it gets closer to the date.
Tickets to the crawl are $20 and each bar has specials - draft Bud and Bud Light for $1, Bud and Bud Light Bottles for $2, Well Drinks for $3 and Jameson for $4. Unlike pub crawls where 90 people trek to a bar together and fight for drinks, you are given a directory and map of the bars that participate in the pub crawl throughout the day/evening. The bars in the area are split up to have different time frames, and some overlap, so there are always a few spots available at any given time. It’s fun to try a variety of bars to discover new favorites, and to see if you can find the emptiest bar to dominate with your friends and take advantage of the $1 beers. So for example, the pub crawl may include Village Pour House, Still and Bar None, but you can only visit Pour House between 2-4 p.m., Still from 3-5 p.m., Bar None 5-7 p.m., etc., to get the specials. You don’t have to follow any crowds and can travel as you wish with your friends.
It’s a fun event and worth checking out. You also have the option of purchasing tickets for a three day pub crawl event - March 14, March 15 and March 17, but my advice is that one day is just enough!
