Headed over to Vezzo on 31st and Lex last week for lunch. I’ve been to Vezzo a number of times, and I love that you can grab a quick lunch with co-workers here at a cheap price, but still feel like you’ve gone somewhere nice for lunch. Vezzo has a variety of lunch specials that are all under $10 and include a drink. My favorites include the two slices of their thin crust plain pizza for $5 and their chicken and smoked mozzarella panino. With pizza around the corner priced at $3.25 (at least!) a slice, you cannot go wrong with this deal. Toss in an extra buck and you can even add toppings to your slices. Their salad has an excellent garlic Cesar house dressing, so I often find myself ordering a half-sandwich and salad, or a personal pizza and salad. Even if you go with the half sandwich and salad combo, you’ll still find yourself very full.
The atmosphere is very cozy, but often there is a line to get into the restaurant, so sometimes you feel like a bunch of hawks are watching you eat. My advice would be to head over to Vezzo at the beginning part of the lunch hour, around noon. Also, sometimes the servers can be very slow. At our last group outing here, we all received our meal, but were waiting on my friend Doug’s two slices of pepperoni pizza for a few minutes. Others in the group ordered the same dish, so we didn’t understand what the hold up was. While the service can be slow, I will say that at least when making a substitute on a sandwich, the servers do not act annoyed about it - which you can sometimes find at other restaurants. When I want to have lunch during the workday - and enjoy it - I’ll definitely keep Vezzo in mind.
The Basics Name: Vezzo Location: 178 Lexington Ave (corner of 31st) Who to take: Coworkers, Friends Price: Even a homeless man can afford it. $. Overall: Put it in the rotation. 4 stars.

Wow. I can’t even get namedropped on 89th and Broke for my last lunch at Vezzo’s. Ouch.
McKennna, I believe the editorial mission of this blog is to identify food deals, not inflate your ego.
My pepperoni pizza clearly represented the good and bad of the restaurant - cheap pizza but slow service. If I remember correctly, you attempted to get more food yet demanded no additional charges. Perhaps that kind of behavior is appropriate for MckBlog, but probably not this one.
