During my second year in New York, I’ve been trying to take advantage of some of the cultural activities the city has to offer, but often museums and zoos can come at a bit of a price. I will say a few of the museums do a “pay what you wish” offering – such as the Met and Natural History Museum, but other places such as the aquarium only offer that feature for a limited time (from 3-4:30 on Friday, rather than $13 for admission) and as a working girl, there is no way I’ll make it there.
Luckily, I came across Bank of America’s Museums on Us promotion. I have a Bank of America card and the first
weekend of the month, museum admission is free to cardholders to over 70 museums in the US. In New York, this allows admission to the New York Aquarium, Bronx Zoo, Jewish Museum, International Center of Photography and New York Hall of Science. The Met and Natural History museum are also listed, but since those are almost free anyways, it is not as much of a savings.
Interested in going? This upcoming weekend, December 6 & 7, marks the first weekend of the month, so start planning!
