A few nights ago, my friend Jess and I were standing in Union Square wondering where to go to dinner. We settled on The Loop, a sushi restaurant in Gramercy, simply because it had 4 stars on Yelp.
While all the Yelp reviews raved about the sushi (at least what I could see on [...]

Earlier this month, Caryn (thoughts in italics) and I were invited to a press preview of Milk Street Café. This is essentially a food hall (fancy way of us saying cafeteria) located in the Trump Building at 40 Wall Street that is opening on Thursday. There are several different stations inside the hall – [...]

For an limited time, East Pacific in Murray Hill is offering $3 regular maki rolls all day and night. They’re also touting $1 sushi and and sashimi pieces. No word on how long this deal will last or if it’s valid for take-out as well, but stop by why you [...]

Last weekend, I was invited to a blogger brunch at mai cuisine, a fast-casual restaurant located near Grand Central on 41st and Madison. What makes mai interesting, is that the front of the restaurant is more like a deli, where you can pick up pre-packaged foods, and the back is more like a restaurant.

We’ve written about the Korean restaurant Arang before, and we were even so lucky as to give away a gift certificate good for dinner for two during our anniversary party raffle. But if you weren’t the raffle winner and you’re looking for another reason to go, consider the following:
Every Sunday through Thursday from 4 [...]

When I moved to the Upper East Side, I knew I had to scout out a few staples: my new pizzeria, bagel shop, Thai restaurant and sushi restaurant. Those are my “must haves.” While it took a few tries for me to find my new Thai spot (posts on that journey to come), I [...]

I’m a big sushi fan so when I can find deals beyond the standard $8-9 for two rolls and soup/salad at lunch, I’m pretty excited. That’s why I love Hane Sushi near Peter Cooper and Stuy Town. With rotating specials each day, you can be sure to get a bargain on delicious sushi.
I’ve [...]

A few weeks back my former intern Elle told me about a new sushi restaurant that had opened in Murray Hill. As soon as the words BYOB were out of her mouth, I had plans with my roommate for Saturday night.
My roommate Al and I headed over to Nana Sushi on a Saturday [...]

Today marks the beginning of a special kind of Restaurant Week – LUCKYRICE, sponsored by the LUCKYRICE Culinary Council. From May 3 – 9th, you can check out some Asian restaurants (and some “not-so-Asian” restaurants, according to the site) to sample some Asian-inspired dishes at a reduced price. The prices really range, so you’ll have to [...]

Once again inspired by Laura, I was in the mood for Thai food. I thought of going uptown to try Osha after reading her review (the BYOB was particularly appealing), but much to my delight I stumbled across a new Thai place of my own to try. While walking around the neighborhood the other [...]
