When my dad, Andy, was in town last week, we decided to keep things simple and enjoy a delicious Thai meal. Andy is always quick to point out that he loves all Asian cuisines, and with the nearest Thai restaurant far away from his home (is there even Thai restaurants in the middle of [...] Our little lunch group in the office has expanded from our usual cheap lunch spots – Subway and street carts – and recently began ordering in at least once a week. Recently, we were attracted to the Thai restaurant Jaiya, because of the lunch specials. Located in Murray Hill and Long Island City, Jaiya [...] Once again inspired by Laura, I was in the mood for Thai food. I thought of going uptown to try Osha after reading her review (the BYOB was particularly appealing), but much to my delight I stumbled across a new Thai place of my own to try. While walking around the neighborhood the other [...] On Saturday night, my roommates and I decided to hit up a new Thai place in the neighborhood – Osha. The two things that attracted us to Osha was the fact that it was new and it was BYOB. With a couple of bottles of wine in hand, we arrived at Osha and unfortunately [...] I’m a big Thai fan and always on the hunt for cheap and delicious Thai food. One of my personal favorites in the city is Spice. Yes, I know some of you are rolling your eyes and I’ve heard the complaints before: small portions, crappy food, etc., etc. But I’m sorry, I [...] Doug, Milos, Paul and I were in the mood for some Thai food a week or two ago, so we headed over to ThaiNY. I’d seen this place walking to work and the lunch menu posted online looked great – $7 for an appetizer and entrée. I was sold. The inside is pretty cool [...] I had been craving Thai for days, and on Sunday night decided to head over to Bangkok Tasty, one of my favorite Thai restaurants in Astoria. I had been a few times before, but was looking forward to reviewing for the blog. So when my friend Kristin mentioned that she saw an ad in an issue of Metro for a thai restaurant week, I couldn’t start googling faster than you can say pad thai. I wasn’t able to find too much about the [...] As I explained yesterday, I headed out to Carroll Gardens this past weekend in hopes of scoring some free hot dogs and beer…it was not meant to be. I turned to my hand-drawn map and list of restaurants that I compiled before I left in case of an emergency such as this.
