According to Chick-fil-A, tomorrow is Cow Appreciation Day and the only way to properly celebrate such a bizarre occasion is to dress as a cow from “head to hoof.” This only seems logical. As a reward for your dedication to the cow, you’ll receive a free meal. And if you’re a “little chicken” as they put [...]

If you’re sticking around the city this weekend (I actually love fourth of July in NYC), then you’re probably thinking about where to catch the fireworks. Okay, so I’m going to be 100% straight up honest with you…this is a personal plug. About a year ago I went back to school to study nutrition and recently I started another new, yet related, chapter in my life and am now a personal trainer at Synergy gym on 31st and Lex. Similar [...]

Tomorrow the Times Square Alliance and lucy® activewear will be celebrating the longest day of the year by offering free yoga classes at “lucy® Solstice in Times Square.” You’re welcome to join whether you’re an experienced yogi or a newbie, as these classes are designed for all levels. Although I haven’t tried them yet, I’m excited about Whole Foods’ VERY affordable cooking classes! Cooking classes, even with a daily deal voucher, seem to run anywhere between $25-200, so it’s a real steal to attend one for only $10, let alone for free!
Available at the Bowery, Tribeca and UWS locations, you can [...]

Tonight marks the annual “Museum Mile” festival. From 6-9 pm, 10 museums along 5th Avenue between 82nd and 105th Street offer free admission. In addition to free admission, you can enjoy entertainment in the streets – such as art projects and live music. Now, I’ve been to Museum Mile a couple of times since [...]

If you’re looking for something new to do in the city, consider the Sony Wonder Technology Lab, a four-story interactive technology and entertainment experience with cool exhibits that “bring technology and creativity together to make learning experiential, entertaining and fun.”
Sounds interesting to me, especially since admission is free! However, reservations are highly recommended and can [...]

Although Starbucks exploded on the East Coast in the 90s, it’s actually celebrating its 40th anniversary this week with some new drinks and a line of petite pastries (and boring things like rebranding). To honor its loyal customers, Starbucks is giving away a free petite pastry with the purchase of a beverage today through [...]
