One of my favorite food events of the year is the Village Voice Choice Eats. This event is basically a food festival where you’ll enjoy samples from 50 different restaurants, complimentary alcoholic beverages (beer and wine) and a dessert sampling. The event is hosted at the 69th Armory on Lexington Avenue on 25th Street from 6:30 – 9:30 pm. I guess in a nutshell, the way I describe this event is free samples from Costco, on crack. This year, Choice Eats will be held on Tuesday, March 19. This year, tickets will be $50, with VIP tickets available for $80. In years past, VIP tickets gave you early access to the goodies.
Tickets go on sale January 16, but please note that they always tend to sell out, especially at the $50 level. If you’d like to get ahead of the game and buy tickets early, text “NYCFOOD” to receive the Dining SMS or “NYCINSIDER” to receive the Insider SMS to 61721 and receive an exclusive pre-sale code on Thursday, January 10 via a Village Voice SMS alert to purchase tickets before the regular on-sale date.
