Created in response to the devastating effect that September 11th had on sales at Broadway shows and at businesses in and around the Times Square theatre district,
Season of Savings is a bi-annual event where you can purchase tickets to Broadway and off-Broadway shows, as well as get discounted tickets to other Times Square attractions (read: Harry Potter exhibit). Shows start as low as $27 and include plays and musicals like the Heiress and Mamma Mia, and even includes Once (note: Once is rarely discounted – so a great opportunity to get tickets!). To see which shows are participating, click here. Tickets can be purchased for most shows through March 16.
If you are thinking about buying any tickets, just make sure you compare the prices with Broadway Week (Jan. 22 – Feb. 7) and Off-Broadway Week (Jan 28. – Feb. 10). Several shows are offering 2 for 1 tickets. The list is a tad extensive more than Season of Savings, so if you don’t see the show offered via Season of Savings and can go soon, be sure to check out the Broadway Week offers.
