Over the weekend I was craving Thai, so I decided to order from Seamless ($5 off your first order when you sign up for Seamless!).
Anyways, I saw a new Thai place I hadn’t tried before, and tried Red Basil Thai Kitchen.
My delivery showed up in its delivery window. Off the bat, I loved how many spring rolls were offered – 5 good-size rolls for $4.95. Best of all, freebies were included. A box marked “free!†contained two honey covered spring rolls, filled with bananas. It was a delicious dessert, and I loved that they threw in a freebie.
While the meal started off so well, the rest of it was disappointing. I ordered the chicken pad thai for $8.95, and it was tasteless. While the usual suspects were in there – egg, chicken, noodles – it just tasted blah. Luckily there was some chili sauce thrown in with the pad thai. I mixed that in to give it some taste, but if I wanted a spicy noodle dish, I would have ordered drunken noodle.
I’d try Red Basil Thai Kitchen again – but would not order the pad thai. While the spring rolls and freebie were great, a majority of the pad thai spent the rest of the night in the garbage pail, which is definitely unlike me since I’m a sucker for leftovers.
