CONGRATS to Frank, winner of the contest.Â
Our friends at The Skint and Brooklyn Based are throwing an 80s party aka “Cruel Summer 80s Dance Party” this Friday night, August 10, at
The Bell House in Gowanus (near Park Slope if you’ve never been to Brooklyn). If you love the 80s, this party is definitely for you.   From 8-9 you’ll get all the new wave you can handle with DJ B-Movie, from 9- 10:15 you’ll hear The Engagements, a cover band that’ll cover your favorite hits from the 80s, and then the set will repeat.  Once midnight hits, enjoy a late night set of funky dance and freestyle hits with Party Like it’s 1999‘s Steve Reynolds.
Drinks are $6, and in typical Bell House fashion, they have cute 80s names, and rumor has it there will be snacks like Doritos.
Tickets are $5 in advance when you use the code 1980, and $10 at the door. You can purchase them here, or better yet, you can win them on 89th and Broke.

My friend is coming into town this weekend, and would LOVE to go to an 80′s Dance Party. Please enter me to win the tix. Let’s go with his favorite 80′s Song “Relax” by Frankie Goes to Hollywood, because I love so many I couldn’t pick just one (“Just Like Heaven” – The Cure, “Words” – Missing Persons, “I Melt With You” – Moden English, “People Who Died” Jim Carroll Band, “Fade to Grey” – Visage, “West End Girls” – Pet Shop Boys,, “Town Called Malice” – The Jam….I really could go on for days and not pin it down to just ONE song!)
