Reminder: Try this Trick! Turn Gift Cards into Cash!

Not to sound unappreciative, but let’s face it – sometimes your family gets you gift cards that you won’t be using.  JcPenney? Haven’t been there since 1995.  Denny’s? No idea where there’s one near me.  If you found yourself in the same boat this holiday season, remember to check out Plastic Jungle - a great way to sell your gift cards for cash.

The process is pretty simple. Enter in the value and vendor of your gift card, and Plastic Jungle will evaluate how much your card is worth.  As an example, I currently have a Starbucks gift card that has $26.62 on it.  If I used Plastic Jungle though, I could convert this gift card and get $22.92 to Amazon, or $21.83 via Paypal or check.  Keep in mind you must have at least a $25 balance on your gift card in order to sell it.

After you select how you would prefer to get paid, you get a pre-paid shipping label and then you’ll place your gift card in the mail.  Within 5-7 business days, you’ll receive a check.  There are 30 retailers though – like Gap for example – where you can instantly get paid via Paypal or Amazon.  This is perfect if you are in need of some money ASAP.

All in all, the whole experience to sell your card is fast and painless, and is totally worth the 5 minutes it takes to fill out the form, print the paperwork and ship it.  Just keep in mind sometimes you need a 8.5×11 envelope in order to mail in your card and complete the transaction.

If your New Years resolution is to get more organized, consider checking out Plastic Jungle. You’ll be able to get rid of cards that will sit unused in your wallet or apartment for something we can all use – CASH!
