Yes, you read that correctly. Movember is  a charity that encourages men to grow moustaches during the month of November to raise awareness of men’s health issues, specifically prostate cancer and other cancers that affect men (money raised in the US goes to Prostate Cancer Foundation, LiveSTRONG, etc.). These Mo Bros register with the site and start the month off clean shaven, continuing to grow a moustache throughout November, serving as a walking billboard for men’s health issues.
Billy Hurricane‘s is the only bar in NYC with a moustache hall of fame (how can there be only 1?), so Movember teamed up with them to offer specials to Mo Bros all month long. Each Thursday is Moustache Thursday (obviously) and from 7-8 pm, men sporting a moustache can enjoy free drinks. To make Thursdays productive as well as fun, the bar has a barber come in to do touch ups on the moustaches and a photographer will be there to capture time-lapse photos of “growage.” I may need to stop by one Thursday later in the month just to take in all the funny moustaches. I hope they name a winner for most creative/bizarre moustache!
