89th And Broke

I'm a young professional living in Astoria (formerly of Williamsburg, the UES and Murray Hill - I move a lot!). I'm always looking for something fun to do or the best place to grab a drink and dinner at an affordable price around the city. Have a suggestion? Email me at Laura AT 89thandbroke DOT com.

Zeel’s Get Fit For Fall Contest

We told you about Zeel, a daily deal type of site that focuses exclusively on fitness and health, several months ago when they offered a $50 credit when you signed up. If you haven’t signed up already (or even if you did), then here’s another reason to do so: they’re giving away more than $1000 worth of health services to one lucky member! The prizes include:

  • A private in-home yoga session with Stephanie Cullen, named New York magazine’s top yoga teacher in New York two years in a row
  • A personal training session with Delon Nelson, formerly the head trainer for the Miss USA Pageant, and trainer to celebrity clients like TV personality Vanessa Minnillo and ESPN College GameDay host Chris Fowler.
  • Nutrition counseling with Lisa Young, nationally recognized registered dietitian and author of The Portion Teller Plan
  • A massage by Robert Wolf, a massage therapist for the United States Tennis Assocation and an instructor with the Swedish Institute
  • A one-one-one Gyrotonic/Gyrokinesis workout with professional dancer and personal trainer Katie Weir
  • A private one-on-one Pilates session at Mongoose Bodyworks
To enter the contest all you need to do is join or if you’re already a member, then post something about the Get Fit For fall contest on their Facebook page. There will also be 5 runner ups who’ll receive $50 Zeel gift cards to use on the site. You have until September 30th to enter!
