We just told you guys about Pera’s May Meze Madness a few days ago, but we received some updates that were definitely worth sharing.
First, we forgot to note that along with your three appetizers for $9, you do get complimentary house baked bread and a kasseri cheese presentation which is all delicious (and who doesn’t love some free food?). Additionally, throw in an extra $9 and you can get a glass of wine (pick from Pera’s 22 wines by glass) or specialty cocktail to complement your meal. This is a nice little savings since the cocktails at least are normally $14 a piece (and they’re quite tasty, as we can attest to). If you don’t have the cash for the wine, then just become their friend on Facebook and click the Register tab to sign up for a free glass of wine!
If you’re looking to make it a cute date night, then head over on a Friday to take in the live jazz (no cover, obviously or we wouldn’t waste your time telling you about it!).
While Pera used to just be in operation on weekdays, it is now open all week long so it has a new weekend menu with a brunch special to boot – $17 for a brunch cocktail, brunch platter (“platter” here means an entree like a Kofte Burger, Lamb “French dip” Sandwich, Pastry Basket, Soujouk Eggs Beneditc, etc.) and coffee and tea.
And if you and your party (minimum of two guests, served family style) are in the mood for meat, particularly lamb, then check out their weekly Lamb Roast (apparently the only in the city). For $29 per person you’ll dine on three appetizers – Warm Hummus with Lamb Bacon (the Warm Hummus was a favorite last year and adding lamb bacon sounds awesome), Roasted Whipped Eggplant (not our fav, but we heard it may have changed a bit) and Mediterranean Peasant Salad, the main entree – Oven-Roasted Spring Lamb, and four side dishes – Whipped Sweet Potatoes (sounds great!), Sauteed Fiddlehead Ferns, Grilled Lamb Sausage and Oven-Roasted Cauliflower. Whew! That’s a lot of food.
If you’re tight on money and just want to try the May Meze Madness deal, then review your appetizer options below before you head on over:
