While walking home from T.J. Maxx on Sunday with a bunch of new bargain purchases in hand, I noticed a new frozen yogurt shop on 6th Avenue – 22 Happy Cups. It just opened in the past week or so and it was advertising a variety of food from Korean BBQ crepes to sweet crepes to frozen yogurt. Granted, this was a little strange and I can’t say I’d stop in for the BBQ, but the frozen yogurt looked pretty good.
Like the Pinkberry’s and Red Mango’s of the world, 22 Happy Cups also boasted non-fat, natural frozen yogurt with probiotics, etc. My temptations got the best of me and I tried a sample of the peanut butter frozen yogurt (note – this is the only low-fat version in the shop). It was so good, I had to order the small for only $2.75. It didn’t need any toppings, saving me $1, so I was quite pleased to have a delicious treat for under $3. For those interested, I asked about the nutritional content of the peanut butter flavor, and the small contained 140 calories and 5 grams of fat – not too bad for the quality of the frozen yogurt.
I’d like to try the other flavors, maybe they’re more similar to the flavors we’re accustomed to at Pinkberry, but the natural peanut butter flavor was a great change of pace. If you’re in the area and need a mid-shopping pick-me-up, definitely stop by 22 Happy Cups.
